To maximize the impact of the program, BIC Corporation underwrites workshops in communities that demonstrate an interest in and the capacity to implement a coordinated fire safety initiative. This capability is demonstrated in part by the ability to organize a regional workshop. The goal of the program is to place as many kits as possible in the hands of individuals who show a concern for and commitment to child safety.
BIC Corporation invites all interested communities to apply for a play safe! be safe! training workshop. BIC underwrites the cost of the presentation and provides a play safe! be safe! multimedia kit to every participant. The local host must provide an appropriate venue and all necessary audiovisual equipment.
Each year seven communities in the U.S. and one in Canada are selected to receive play safe! be safe! workshops. Priority is given to large cities that demonstrate a commitment to fire safety education.

"The program helped me to realize how a preschooler thinks about fire. It
showed me how to put it on their level. I enjoyed it."
